# ZipStreamHub

> ZipStreamHub is an open-source (MIT) zero-download streaming server and virtual archive extractor for remote ZIP and ZIP64 files. It reads the ZIP index with HTTP Range requests and serves seekable HTTP 206 streams to media players (PotPlayer, MPV, VLC, MPC-HC, MPC-BE, IINA), web browsers, M3U/M3U8 playlists, WebDAV clients and Jellyfin/Emby/Kodi via STRM files, without downloading or unpacking the archive. Python 3.9+, runs on Windows, macOS, Linux and Docker.

Key facts: the ZIP Central Directory is read from the last 1 MB of the remote file; each player byte-range request is offset by the entry's data offset (exact 1:1 mapping for the STORE method); a RAM-only sliding-window prefetcher buffers ahead and is drained on seek; no video data is written to disk.
